I actually took on a new identity of late, one that forced my drawings into the back seat; for the last few weeks I have been 'Kirstie the brave,' a pale-faced island explorer on a mission to enjoy sun, sand and sea...

You'll be pleased to hear the voyage was a great success.. and a thousand freckles and two sore shoulders later, I'm back.

I've been sketching frantically, trying to get this quirky male character right for a book project I'm working on. Meet some of the extras/distractions that came out in the process. Sometimes I start drawing a guy, and I end up with a child or grandma... weird huh.

We made this cake on the weekend. It really isn't going to last long. My excuse is that it keeps my energy levels up, before and after drawing sessions...   ...oh come on, Kirstie...   you're not fooling anyone.
